School Sanctioned Segregated Field Trip Creates Racial Divisiveness

Here is an example of black racism against whites.  If the reverse ever happened there would be an outcry from the Left and charges of racism would be flung around so fast and heads would be rolling because blacks were excluded from an all white field trip.  This was supposedly to be an educational experience on African-American social issues solely for African Americans.  It would have been nice if the all of the caucasian children were included so they would learn about African-American culture and social issues as well.  Are we only supposed to look up to and get advice from people within our own race?  I don't think so.  We should look up to people from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.  We should be teaching our children to do the same, instead of inviting a racial divide as this school in Ann Arbor did.

Scott Strzelczyk from the American Thinker states:

An Ann Arbor, Michigan elementary school field trip to take students to see a rocket scientist at the University of Michigan turned into a racial incident because the school only allowed black students to attend the field trip.

Dicken Elementary School Principal Mike Madison wrote a letter to parents a couple days after the field trip. Mr. Madison said:

"The intent of our field trip was not to segregate or exclude students as has been reported, rather to address societal issues, roadblocks and challenges that our African American children will face as they pursue a successful academic education here in our community."

In plain English, public school educators in Michigan admit that black students are incapable of their own achievement, and somehow, black students are inferior to white, Latino, and Asian students; therefore society must treat them differently. Precisely, what kind of academic education is taught in this community?

Imagine the outrage by the far-left zealots and their trained attacked dogs in the main stream media if a field trip included white students only. Undoubtedly, the Rev. Al Sharpton would abandon his theatrical appearance in Arizona and head directly to Michigan.

According to an article published in the Daily Tribune , Michigan's attorney general's office said:

The field trip initially appears to violate the state constitution. In 2006, voters approved a ban on affirmative action programs that give preferential treatment to groups or individuals based on race, gender, color, ethnicity or national origin for public employment, education or contracting purposes.

Welcome to the world of racial and social justice where self-esteem and reputation is no longer based upon character and hard work. Cast aside Rev. Martin Luther King's words delivered in Washington D.C. in 1963:

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Racial issues are used as a mechanism by those desiring to divide the country and further their own agendas.

Men are no longer created equal; social and racial engineers make Men equal.

Men are made equal by taking property earned by one person and providing it to another.

Men are made equal by relying on the government instead of relying on individual achievement.

Men are made equal by silencing dissent and enforcing authoritarian rule.

Men are made equal by dividing wealth instead of multiplying wealth.

Martin Luther King's dream has become the nation's nightmare.
